Sample Itinerary
Saturday: Arrival day
After arriving at the villa and having settled in, the kids will probably want to jump in the pool straight away. Meanwhile you can relax in the sun overlooking the beautiful hills surrounding the villa. Because supermarkets are closed on Sundays we would recommend to do some groceries this afternoon or evening.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Single Pitch Rock Climbing
From experience we know that for families a whole day at the crag can be a bit too much. When the children get tired or loose their interest it is best to leave the crag and go back to the villa or go to the beach. Therefore we will provide families (minimum size 4 people) with their own climbing guide. This allows him/her to organise the climbing days completely around your family’s time schedule, experience levels and climbing ambitions.
For some families this means that the day will be split up in two sessions: After the morning session at the crag we’ll come back to the villa for a siësta and then we’ll go climbing again in the afternoon. Having two sessions a day also allows you to take turns in taking care of the youngest ones.
Other families choose to do mornings of climbing and afternoons of relaxing, beach, water activities or sightseeing.
When at the crag, again, we will adjust the activities to your needs. Depending on your experience level and what you want to get out of the week, we could put topropes up and let everyone enjoy the climbing, we could coach and improve your climbing technique, we could teach you how to lead climb, or we could improve your climbing safety skills. With Rock & Sun you will always be in the safe hands of one of our MIA qualified instructors
Wednesday: Rest day
After three days of climbing, today it is time for something different. This morning you won’t need to get up and get everyone organised for the day. There is time to relax in and around the villa, wander into Parcent with its typical Spanish narrow windy streets, a bakery, church and square, or enjoy one of Denia’s or Calpe’s beautiful beaches. Also, there are many water parks, adventure parks and attraction parks in the Costa Blanca. Or, for a more cultural experience, explore the beautiful historic centre of Denia with its castle and cathedral — and many tapas bars.
Thursday, Friday: Single Pitch Rock Climbing
After the rest day you will feel energised and ready for two more days of rock climbing in this beautiful area. Depending on the weather and your climbing aspirations we could explore crags we haven’t been to earlier in the week. Or we go back to the same crags, for instance to focus on coaching movement skills, or to learn how to lead climb.
Saturday: Departure day
Costa Blanca Accommodation
You will be staying in a self-catering villa with swimming pool in Lliber in the Jalon Valley. It is an extremely spacious detached finca, boasting magnificent views over the valley’s vineyards, almond and olive groves, set against the Col de Rates in the background. The villa is completely private, has many outside areas to enjoy both in winter and summer, and has a lovely outside kitchen and barbecue area. The villa has a very large lounge with dining area and fire place and a fully equipped farmhouse style kitchen. There are three twin bedrooms, a bathroom and one double room that also functions as a family/triple room with its own bathroom. The beds and mattresses are of high quality to assure a good night’s sleep in between long and intense climbing days.
The villa is located in a secluded and quiet area in the beautiful green hills behind Lliber, yet within walking distance of amenities. The nearest restaurant is about a mile away. The bars and restaurants on main square of the picturesque village of Lliber are at 2,5 km. It is 4 km to Jalon with a big choice of bars, restaurants and a supermarket. There is Wifi at the villa.
