The coaches have so much experience of the area over the past few decades that they know all the best crags and places to eat so that every part of your day is fantastic. Getting lots of personal help via emails about every detail was really helpful when booking the trip. I honestly couldn’t have imagined how good the trip would be. Lao Liang was something really special, but I also loved Ao Nang, spending Christmas Day hanging out with a really friendly and inclusive group, the routine of the climbing days and the fact I felt Dees really wanted all of us to have an amazing time no matter what. I felt like I was pushed hard (in a good way) but there was also plenty of down time and funtimes. The coaching and guiding was really excellent. What a privelege to climb with such talented climbers. I loved climbing (and hanging out!) with Dees – her technical help was invaluable and working with her on my project was eye-opening! Noone has ever been quite such a climbing mentor to me before. Alun was great company and his photos were a real bonus too- amazing shots and great to have this memory as opposed to my fuzzy phone shots!! Most of all I simply loved Tim’s enthusiasm, coaching and general positivity. Having him on the trip made it a really incredible experience. Such a wonderful climber but also such an inspirational person to have around. Purchaser feedback: We were stuck on the island for an extra day due to the weather but it didn’t matter, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. What was interesting was that the others were all repeat customers. You must be doing something right! One point – the others arrived “in country” well before they started climbing – I literally travelled non-stop until I landed on the beach. This does not work well for strength or mind if you want to climb hard. Tell people not to do this..EVER! I’m sure I’ll be booking something with you again. Thanks to all. Purchaser feedback: What an amazing week! My second (and most definitely not last) trip with Rock and Sun. The booking process was great, including advice on selection of course, as I wasn’t quite sure which level to go for, as well as the handy loyalty bonus. From the airport pick up till the end of the week, things were just ace – we all got a lot of climbing in with perfectly tailored coaching, and by the end of the week, we all crushed our projects – the hardest lead climbs we’ve ever done. The instructors were knowledgeable, supportive and fun, ensuring we all had a great time whilst pushing ourselves. The villa was a lovely retreat for the evenings and the rest day, and I was fortunate to be teamed up with an awesome room mate too. All in all – a great week climbing in a stunning location with some amazing people.

Purchaser feedback: Sam and Amber were fantastic; really wonderful to hang out with, incredibly good (and patient!) guides/coaches, and they successfully challenged many of my ‘gym climbing’ preconceptions, which I’m sure was the key to getting me trusting my feet enough to send a load of problems that I never would have had the courage to push through on my own. As someone who’s been climbing indoors for a few years, it took some consideration whether to take the Rock and Sun trip or just to head down with a friend or two, hire a car and mats and explore. I can wholeheartedly say that going for the trip was the best climbing-related decision I’ve made so far. (Bouldering Trip, Fontainebleau)

I’m not a particularly good climber and get quite nervous but she was brilliant at pitching both days to make sure that both me and the other person on the course got what we were looking for out of the course.
